If there is one thing that has become a constant on social media, it’s definitely couple content. Even during a pandemic, there is a ton of couple photos all over the gram. Whether it’s throwback shots, baby announcements, engagements, a lot of wedding posts or pics of them lazing about at home, they’re everywhere. In terms of how much they post, there are different levels to it and those levels can tell you A LOT, but that is a topic for another time… Right now, we’re going to be looking at the 6 types of couple photos that are always on the gram, let’s get into it!
You know the one I’m talking about. Usually the guy is dipping his laughing girlfriend in front of a landmark, as they look lovingly and laughingly into each other’s eyes. It’s definitely one of the classic couple photos. It’s perfect for showing that not only are you having the time of your life travelling, you’re doing it with someone who gets the romance of it all. If there’s one thing people love, it’s a travel picture.

It’s definitely a photo that shows you have the
Instagram ‘husband’ sorted and it’s a great one if
your partner isn’t a fan of being in photos.

A classic and (let’s be honest) very cliché move in the world of couple photos. Travel ‘influencers’ absolutely love it. While you might not necessarily have close mates who would post a shot like this, it’s for sure a shot you would see all over people’s Pinterestboards. It’s usually the girl leading the guy up some stunning landscape. It’s definitely a photo that shows you have the Instagram ‘husband’ sorted and it’s a great one if your partner isn’t a fan of being in photos. There are two sides to this one. There’s the “OMG, they sleep like a model/angel” pic or the “LOL, look at them drooling, but they’re still cute to me” shot. Either way this is one of those couple photos that’s all about giving an ‘intimate’ look in. It’s definitely one of the go-to shots of showing how serious things are between the two of you and how amazing the honeymoon phase (check out our post on what happens after that) you’re in is.

Yup, this is one of those couple photos that just screams
‘and then they lived happily ever after’ and you love
to see a happy ending, don’t we all?

What better way to catalogue the passage of time in your relationship than anniversary posts? Love a good anniversary post, but the caption says it all. There are people who accompany this couple photo with a long, almost essay about why they love their partner so much (does anyone ever read those?!) Then there are those who have a few simple lines, with a little joke or maybe just the amount of years they’ve been together and an emoji. Either way, everyone has their own style with this one.
Ah who doesn’t love a good shot of the sunset? Now, add the silhouettes of a couple watching that sunset. Yup, this is one of those couple photos that just screams ‘and then they lived happily ever after’ and you love to see a happy ending, don’t we all? This is a great way to show an ‘artsy’ side and because you can’t really see the couple’s faces, it’s a good one for if you want to post a couple photo, but don’t want to reveal who your partner is yet.

Are you even engaged at this point if you don’t have
cute, artsy shots for the gram? I’m joking… kind of…

Probably the most common of all the couple photos. Are you even engaged at this point if you don’t have cute, artsy shots for the gram? I’m joking… kind of… Anyway, for a lot of couples, even if there are no other shots of their relationship on Instagram, this will be THE shot that they post. Plus, it’ll rake in lots of likes, which is where it’s really at on the gram 😉
So, there you have it! 6 types of couple photos that are always on the gram. Who knows what new types of photos we’ll see in a post pandemic world. Throwbacks to the zoom dates people went on? We’ll have to wait and see…
